Getting Started
Click "Register" at the top of any page. Enter your name, email address, and a password. You will receive a verification email — click the link inside to activate your account before you can post reports or send messages.
No. You can browse and search all public reports without an account. An account is required to post a report, contact another user, or submit a claim.
Yes. Basic posting and searching are free for all registered users. Premium features may be available in the future.
Lost & Found Reports
Log in and click "Post Report" from the navigation bar or your dashboard. Choose "Lost", fill in the item description, category, location, and date it was lost. Add photos if available to help others identify the item. Submit when ready.
Log in and click "Post Report", then choose "Found". Describe the item with enough detail for the owner to recognize it, but avoid publishing all details publicly — some identifying information should be held back to verify legitimate ownership.
Reports remain active until you archive or delete them, or until a claim is approved. There is no automatic expiry for active reports. We encourage you to update or remove your report once your item is returned.
Yes. Open the report from your dashboard and use the Edit or Delete buttons. If your report is under moderation review, some changes may require re-approval.
Search & Matching
When you post a lost or found report, our system compares it against existing reports in the opposite category. If the category, location, keywords, and date range are similar, we suggest potential matches on your dashboard. You can review each suggestion and decide whether to contact the other user.
Use the Search page to filter by category, keywords, date range, and location (governorate and district). The more specific your search terms, the more relevant the results will be.
Matches depend on there being a corresponding report on the platform. If no match appears, it means no report with similar details has been posted yet. We recommend checking back periodically and making sure your report description, category, and location are as accurate as possible.
Claims & Proof
Open the found item report and click "Claim This Item". You will be asked to describe how the item belongs to you and to upload supporting evidence. The person who found the item will review your claim and decide whether to approve or reject it.
Useful proof includes photos of the item you took before losing it, receipts or purchase records, serial numbers, or any other documentation that confirms ownership. The quality and relevance of your proof will help the finder make a decision.
The finder receives a notification and can review your claim and the proof you submitted. They may approve or reject the claim. If approved, you will be able to message each other to arrange the return of the item. Platform administrators may also review claims if escalated.
Yes. You can cancel a pending claim from your dashboard before the finder takes action on it.
Messaging & Support
If a claim is approved, a message thread is opened between you and the other user. You can use this thread to coordinate the return of the item. Direct messages are private between the two participants.
Administrators cannot read the content of normal user-to-user message threads. However, if you contact la2etlak support through the contact form or a support thread, those messages are visible to platform administrators as part of handling your request.
Visit the Contact page and fill in the form with your question or issue. Our team will review your message and respond as soon as possible.
If you encounter inappropriate behavior, please contact us via the Contact page and describe the situation. Include the username or report details so our team can investigate.
Account & Security
Go to Settings → Profile and scroll to the Password section. Enter your current password and then your new password twice. If you have forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page.
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your account. After entering your password, you will also need to provide a time-based code from an authenticator app. This makes it much harder for someone else to access your account even if they know your password.
Go to Settings → Two-Factor Authentication and follow the on-screen instructions. You will need an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or Authy installed on your phone.
Go to Settings → Deactivate Account. Deactivating your account hides your profile and reports from public view. You can reactivate your account at any time by logging in again.
Privacy & Safety
You control whether your email address and phone number are visible to other users. Go to Settings → Privacy to update your preferences. Administrators always have access to your contact information for platform operations and support.
We recommend meeting in a well-lit public place such as a coffee shop, shopping centre, or police station. Bring a friend if possible. Never share your home address with someone you do not know, and trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, do not proceed with the meetup.
Your personal data is used to operate your account, display your reports, and process claims. Please read our Privacy Policy for full details on how data is collected, stored, and protected.
